At the Windel Group, you can look forward to an interesting and varied apprenticeship or a dual work and study program. One highlight, for example, is Apprentice Day, which this year culminated in a small spontaneous regatta, as our apprentices report:

“Just a few weeks into our training, it was time for Apprentice Day! All the apprentices and instructors from the entire WINDEL GROUP met up for breakfast in a café. Over breakfast, we played a game involving fun questions, enabling everyone to introduce themselves. This gave us a great opportunity to get to know each other.

After breakfast, we car-pooled to the River Hase, where the event organizer was already waiting for us at the meeting point with the materials. We were split into two teams and, using canisters, wooden boards, and ropes, each was tasked with building a raft that would be sturdy enough to transport the team on the river. Since we didn't want to end up in the water, we put our heads together to come up with strategies for the best way to go about it. We had half an hour to build our rafts before setting out in the sunshine on the Hase, kitted out with paddles and life jackets, to try them out. Both rafts held up great the whole time. At the end, we had a little competition to see which team could get to the finish line faster, and we all ended up a bit wet. Everyone had a brilliant time!
